Who holds which office in the council house

A council's legislative arm has a fixed hierarchy: the Leader of the House presides, supported by the Deputy Leader, the Majority Leader and the Whips. The directory shows each ward's councillor against their office, so a resident can see at a glance who leads their council and who simply represents their ward.

    Every councillor has one link. A supporter who opens it lands on the registration form with the ward and Local Government already filled in and locked, so they never have to choose them, and the record is attributed to that councillor. Open one to see it.

    The link is a convenience, never an authority. It carries no secret, because it is handed out to supporters. The server resolves the slug to a councillor and derives the ward from that record, so editing the link cannot file a record into a ward the councillor does not represent — at worst it attributes a registration to a different councillor. An unrecognised link falls back to the unlisted form rather than erroring, so a supporter holding a stale link can still register.

    Every councillor shows a photo at ward level

    When a resident opens a ward, the councillor's portrait appears with their name and the office they hold. Until a photograph is uploaded and approved, a placeholder image holds the exact same space, so the layout never shifts and a broken image is never shown.

    Photo status: portraits are published as the Forum supplies them. Every portrait is cropped to the record’s own 4:5 frame and checked before it goes live; until a photograph is supplied, the record shows a placeholder that names the councillor. The upload, review and publication lifecycle is modelled on the record: status, master dimensions, crop anchor, resolution flag, checksum, credit and a recorded permission to use the likeness.
    Constituency projects

    What each councillor has actually built

    Boreholes, drainage, market sanitation, classroom blocks, skills grants. Each project records its category, its status, its cost, the contractor and, where possible, geo-tagged completion evidence. Statuses include stalled and abandoned, because a ledger that can only report success is not a ledger.

We film nothing ourselves: these are films that already exist in public — the House of Assembly’s own channel, a council’s own channel, and Lagos newsrooms that cover council business.     Two ward numbers that must never be added

    Lagos has two independent ward delineations. Conflating them is the most likely way to get the map wrong, so the platform and its build gate keep them apart.

    A 376 versus 377 discrepancy is recorded, not hidden. LASIEC's register and its 2025 notice say 376. Some reporting, and the original mandate, say 377. The best-supported explanation is that 377 wards exist and 376 were contested in 2025, so one ward produced no result row. It is recorded as unverified, and the platform shows both figures rather than picking one.

    Ward boundary mapping

    Boundary geometry is what settles a polling-unit dispute in the field, so each ward is meant to carry its own outline. No boundaries have been supplied yet, so no map is drawn rather than an invented one.
